Tyler Pick I snagged a last minute appointment with whoever was available and was lucky enough to get Kelsie as my stylist. I have lived here two years and havent liked the haircuts I have gotten previously. Kelsie was perfect. They listened to me requests with patience and gave great advice. Most important of all-the cut is perfect!

Shelby Dawson I recently had my hair cut and styled by Nicole. This was seriously the best haircut I have ever received! It was an excellent experience all around! I look forward to coming back to Nicole for my next cut! The place has a great atmosphere, and a clean and welcoming space. Nicole sat down and took time to explain the best hair care practices and genuinely listened to what my hopes were for my new style!

briana perez I had an appointment with Nicole for curtain bangs and elongated layers. I was skeptical going into a salon after years of avoiding them from a previous traumatic experience. I explained this Nicole during our consult and she took the time to explain every step of my cut and was so funny and personable. She made me feel really relaxed and comfortable. I explained to her I felt like my hair was lacking body and dimension, after my cut was complete she suggested some bronze hair tinsel to add some sparkle, I wouldn’t have thought about that on my own. I’m so glad I accepted her suggestion because it wasn’t too flashy but had my hair seriously sparkling in the sun with the placement she decided on. Seriously the BEST experience I have ever had in a salon and the BEST haircut I’ve received. Her standard of care with clients is unmatched, she has a client for life! I will be back!!

Christina Natalie was a DOLL! She made me feel so comfortable for my first ever spray tan and it came out amazing!! I will definitely be back! Thank you so much Natalie!!

Jennifer Rodriguez Felt very obligated to leave this review because I dont think my engagement photos would have turned out even half as great without Kim encouraging me and leaving me with an amazing Blow Out. I was in town visiting and also getting my engagement photos done when I woke up the last day, right before our shoot, with food poisoning. I was just trying to make it the best I could even though I felt horrid. Upon walking in for my appt, Kim could tell I wasnt feeling 100% and immediately started offering suggestions or remedies to help. Since I was the only one in the salon, she even put the A/C on blast for me and brought me a hand fan and tried to make me feel as comfortable as possible throughout the entire service. Close to finishing with my hair, I said something like "I can do this" and Kim was just so sweet and said some of the most encouraging words to give me the final push of energy I needed. My hair looked amazing even if I didnt feel that way and even as I was walking out the door, she told me one more time "You got this. Its only one hour and the photos are going to turn out amazing!" Kim, how right you were! Without her (and my photographer who was equally as patient and kind) I really dont think I would have had the strength to make it through the day let alone the shoot and it just goes to show...you can be good at your job but kindness and compassion can go so much farther. Thank you so much to Buff Beauty Bar and my girl Kim. Anytime Im in Nola, I will make it an occasion to get pampered by you :)

Kathie Johnson Salon Diversions is a warm and friendly salon. My hair stylist, Jen, has a fun, open personality and makes me feel pampered. Once I tried Salon Diversions and Jen, I didn’t try anyone else in the city. She makes my hair look great and teaches me how to do it myself. I look forward to every appointment!

Meredith Jensen Melissa is an awesome stylist, she did an excellent job, better than I could have asked for, and followed whatever guidelines I did have, but made it even better. I cant recommend her highly enough! Major hair improvement! Thank you so very much!

Dominique Dennoun Remi is an awesome stylist. She gave me beautiful highlights on my dark brown hair. No easy feat! She helped me figure out the best color to suit my skin tone. The salon is beautiful, relaxing and everyone is sweet and friendly.

Ainsley Koven Fantastic place. I was in town for a wedding and my original appointment at Maison de Cheveux was cancelled 5 minutes before the scheduled appointment time - ridiculous. I thankfully came across Style House which immediately booked me an appointment. I got a blowout and curls and even did my makeup which was 10/10. Will absolutely return.

Nancy Pagliaro I went in for a quick haircut while in vacation, and Julie gave me the best haircut Ive had in a long time. She was able to take my usual haircut style and add some texture that really made it look so much better than it usually does. The atmosphere was very pleasant and she made me feel like a regular. I highly recommend!

Darren Kerrison Super little barbers, very friendly. Had a beard trim from Julie, who was very attentive and did a great job. They accept walk-ins but would suggest you make an appointment just to be sure. Highly recommended and very reasonably priced considering the location.

Wayne Grant Fantastic experience. Hadn’t gotten a twist in 6 months so I was looking rough. Got my appointment the same day & was able to be seen. Appointment was easy and she was very swift but still gentle. I explained how beeswax makes my scalp itchy and she used a homemade mixture and even told me the ingredients. Will definitely be coming back for the immediate future for retwist.

Kelly Thompson Dwanas salon has a professional and peaceful atmosphere, and her expertise in caring for natural hair is incredible. Every time I leave, my hair looks beautiful, and I always feel confident in her hands. If you want quality, drama-free hair care that respects and enhances what you’ve been blessed with, I can’t recommend her enough. Dwana’s been my go-to stylist for over 10 years, and she always shares great tips to keep my locs healthy and strong. She’s simply the best!

Vanessa Johnston New to town, I booked an appointment with Kimberlee for a haircut that adjusted the style and grow out of my long pixie and was delighted with the results. Three weeks later and I’m still in love with it, plus I went back to have her do my color. What she suggested was a little more edgey than I’d done in a while, but she did such a fantastic job. Every time I wash and style it I stop and think how much I love it — something I’ve never done with any other stylist. I wish I could take her with me to every city I live in! Prices are reasonable, service is impeccable, style, cut, and color were perfect and Kimberlee is the sweetest and most adorable person ever.

Karen Spahn Jorgenson It’s hard to find a hairstylist who manages my natural curls, so Kimberly at Lux was a great find. She not only manages my curls, but does wonders with my color. I walk out the salon a satisfied, happy customer every time. While I am a simple cut, color and go person, Lux is a progressive salon that offers a variety of services. They serve an eclectic clientele that’s reflective of the neighborhood.

Katie Witry I have gotten my nails, waxing, haircut and hair products from Lux Salon for over 8 years. Erin is the owner and is personable and has created a warm and welcoming woman owner salon in a great area of Mid City called Bayou St. John. You can book online easily or call and make an appointment. They have good hours for people who work long hours and do not fit in the conventional 9-5 appointment spot. The staff is friendly and easy to talk with and there is always a sense of calmness when you enter their salon. It is a true neighborhood business where you greet others by their first names and feel as though you have known them for a long time. The location is walkable, bike friendly and easy to get there from the Canal streetcar or Esplanade bus. There is a wine and and coffee store on either side so for a special event you can have a toast while getting your nails or hair done. You wont leave there without booking your next appointment, I promise.

Jessica A Fantastic service and lovely staff! They are so welcoming and warm and I walked out feeling beautiful. I came with a 4 extra people from my wedding party and they were super organized and ensured we were finished in more than enough time! I do only wish that my hair was blown out before it was styled to make the price worth it. It’s about $130 for just an updo. And I had to come with my hair washed.

Harmonese Pleasant Super cutesy, newly opened salon in the city! Id been following the status of the opening and wanted to visit. Luckily, my nail tech of four years texted me soon after and told me she would be working there-- I was too excited! Tried to schedule an appointment and was having a bit of trouble, customer service A++. I was able to successfully schedule + secure my appointment. The salon is gorgeous! Pink, pink, pink. Perfect atmosphere and great location on the corner of Magazine + Melpomene. Complementary drinks + snacks. Friendly people-- a whole vibe!

Heaven Duhe This was my second visit to Petal Salon for a silk press by Zepporah, and my first experience was fantastic. I returned after three weeks for another silk press. My appointment was at 10:20, and I arrived at 10:28, which was still within the 15-minute grace period. Upon arrival, I had to wait almost an hour because Zepporah was finishing up with another client. I remained patient and understanding, knowing that things happen. Zepporah assured me she would be with me shortly, but I continued to wait. She worked on my hair and the other clients hair simultaneously, which made me feel a bit rushed. Overall, I believe the experience could have been more organized, and better communication would have made a significant difference. Last time, I did not have to wait that long. Additionally, after returning home and examining my scalp, I noticed white flakes, indicating that my hair was not washed thoroughly. The service was rushed.

Thalia Nakouzi Breegan (B Willey Hair Studio) is not only one of the best stylist I’ve ever been to but she’s also BEYOND cool. My hair was super thick and long, Breegan gave me the Lob of my dreams! My past stylists had used cutting sheers and damaged my hair. Breegan fixed it and my hair has never looked healthier and less frizzy! The compliments I get are endless. The woman knows what she is doing!!!! I found my forever stylist!

Erika Racherbaumer Breegan is absolutely phenomenal! Not only did she perfectly capture the look I was going for, but she also took the time to educate me on how to best manage my hair type at home. I always leave feeling confident and looking my absolute best - I cant recommend her enough! Beside her talent with hair, we have the best conversations about all of the shows we are currently streaming…she is such a hoot!

Monica Garcia Went to B Willey hair studio and got a fantastic cut with Breegan. She really understands hair texture and creates a cut that brings out the best in your hair vs doing something that you could never replicate at home. She really knows her stuff and is great at explaining what she’s doing and WHY every step of the way. Would definitely recommend giving her a try!

Asha Thomas I LOVE this place! A friend recommended I try getting my nails done by Jira. Over a year later and I havent looked back since. Everyone at Blush Beauty Bar is so kind and professional, and they all do amazing work. I always feel cared for by my service professional. The facility is so cute, clean, and realxing and the owner , Ariel, is a sweethart. I cant reccomend this place enough. Love yall!

Giliah Washington When I went to this establishment to get some lemonade braids they came out clean and neat. It didn’t take long at all, no distractions. A nice clean wash. Was very tender with my hair, and gave me a nice wash and blow dry.

Red Holiday The owner, Im guessing she was, was pretty nice until she was making snark remarks aboit my hair texture. I did tell her that I had corse hair and that I would wash it before I came but she said it was fine. Nice building but it was a very unprofessional atmosphere. She had loud friends cursing up a storm, she would curse too. Now I see why some salons have signs up that say no profanity. It feels more professional. She did have some patience with my hair but the techniques she used showed me that she does naturally curly more so than not. What took her 4 hours Ive had done in 2.

My hair is at its healthiest; and my daughter’s braids are always neat and long lasting. Refreshments and music are always a nice touch too.

S K Natalie was awesome. We were here on a visit and she accommodated our schedule. My 17 year old son wanted dreads/twist and we could could not find a place at home. Natalie the owner was super professional and explained what she was doing the whole time. She explained how to care for his hair afterwards. She got me a cup of coffee while I waited I would highly recommend Empress!
