The thing that stuck out to me the most was a comment he made when I first reached out, he said, “ if I’m dishonest or give you bad advice then my reputation here (Fort Polk, LA area ) goes out the window. I thought to myself, this is a professional who makes an honest living. To give more context, I was working with another lender from a different company who told me the best rate I could get was 6.75% and with a rate buy down option of $11,000 I could be at 6.12%. I put my home searching on pause in hopes the rates would come down before committing to the purchase. I reached out to Cody who came highly recommended through my realtor and he was able to get me at a 5.99% rate with no money out of pocket. Mind you this was within two weeks. I used the VA loan, a quick google search of “VA current rates “ will give you an AVERAGE interest rate. If the average is 6.75% AND you have great credit then you may be able to get a better rate.
