2 /5 D. Chlebowy: It breaks my heart to leave this review. I lived in Lafayette ‘17-‘22, and last time I was here in April 2022 I ate the best ribeye I’ve ever had in my life. I was in town visiting for Xmas and popped by for the Miracle event. It was busy and loud (expected) and the wait staff were doing their best but definitely rushing. I’m positive they earned their 20% automatic gratuity for this event, so I’m not complaining about that in the slightest. The menu may change a bit for the event (ribeye I’d been looking forward to was on website but not on physical menu). My primary complaint is that the portion sizes are laughably small. We (party of 2) ordered bacon-wrapped dates ($6 for 2 of them, they’re about a 1x1 inch cube), gambas al ajillo ($13 for 4 medium-to-large sized shrimp & 4 small crostini), Morcilla quail egg ($8 for 4, quail eggs are tiny if you don’t know), grilled tuna ($18 for 4 pieces about the size of a 50 cent coin, average thickness as you’d get at a sushi restaurant), wagyu ($39 for what I’d estimate was 4 ounces cut up all tiny), and the one thing we ordered that was non-Munchkin sized was the apple bread pudding for $12. Food total was $96. We weren’t starving when we left, and what we did eat was delicious, but it was pathetic for a place that boasts “shareable plates” to not send us away stuffed. After alcohol (4 drinks were about $60), auto gratuity, and tax, it ended up being about $210. Perhaps when you stick with an entree that has sides, you leave satisfied. From this latest experience, I wouldn’t know. The boisterous table nearby ran up a $500+ tab just on shots, and hopefully the alcohol numbed the pain of their bill. Overall, it was disappointing and if you want to get your money’s worth, this probably isn’t the place anymore.
