4 /5 Little Ms Cajun Coonass: My hubby and I stopped by here for Saturday lunch on our way to visit Chicot State Park. We got there at 10:45 and almost everything had already been sold out except burgers and sausage. I ordered the last pork roast they had available on their homemade honey buns. My husband has the brisket stuffed twice baked potato with baked beans and potato salad on the side. For desert, we split the strawberry cream cheese bread pudding.
My sliced pork roast burger was very good. It came with two different sauces on the side which were also very good. My husband said his brisket potato was also very good. He said it had a good smoky flavor but could have used a little more butter and seasining. A couple Tony’s seasoning containers on the picnic tables would be helpful. The potato salad was standard, nothing special. The bbq beans were sweet but very good. The strawberry bread pudding was certainly not traditional but very moist and good. It was probably my personal favorite out of everything. There are a couple picnic tables to sit at the under these very old beautiful oak trees. The price, BTW, was beyond reasonable!! All of the food we got was only $28!
This place is definitely off of the beaten path but worth the drive if you are in the area. Just remember to get there EARLY before they sell out if everything.
