1 /5 Brittny Broom: I want to start out by saying Ive used these services since I was in high school so over 20 years and have never had a bad experience until today. Until today, every person I came into contact with at this place was polite and friendly. However, today was the exception. I brought my 11 year old in for a haircut. Im a newly single mom with 4 children so I was trying to save a little money. I had no choice but to bring my 3 year old with me today and didnt even think it would be an issue. I was never informed I couldnt. My 3 year old was excited at first and wanted to look at everything but I followed her closely and made sure she didnt touch anything. She finally settled down and was sitting in the chair next to where my son was (which I asked permission to use). About 20 minutes later, a girl came up to me with a very condescending tone and told me children werent allowed due to state board rules and that we would have to go up front. I understand the safety aspect. That wasnt the issue. The issue was how she approached me and the fact that no one told me this on the phone when I made the appointment, no one told me this when we checked in and were walked to the back, and no one told me this during the 30 min we were initially there. And when I told the girl no one informed me she read me the policy that was written on a piece of paper taped to the back counter. How could I have missed it?? Its not that I didnt believe her, I was trying to make it clear that no one informed me which she basically told me "everyone here knows children arent allowed". So not only was i totally embarrassed but Ive never felt so uncomfortable in a business before, which is disheartening because I usually like the vibe. After I paid for his haircut and took my 3 year old out to the car, I thought about it and decided against writing a negative review or contacting a supervisor. HOWEVER, when my son was walked out of the building by the student who did his hair, the girl with the extremely cold expression followed her out and stood by the front door staring at me as if waiting for me to leave. Im sorry but thats ridiculous and unnecessary. Shed already made me feel stupid but then also made me feel like a criminal as I was waiting for my son. The haircut was tolerable at best. It wasnt what I described at all. I will probably never ever step foot in this place again.
