Elena Kolbeck: Enjoyed our lunch before a hike! Great place, great people and fresh, delicious food. Plenty of healthy options and local draft beer! Loved the bar seating overlooking the green area, but the day was so gorgeous it was hard to pass on one of the seats around the rocks. Has that modern brewery vibe, yet is very family friendly with plenty of games and activities available.
Audrey Scates Spencer: The venue was awesome and quite beautiful. My Aunt Evadale Kyle went to glory and we celebrated her homegoing at the Snyder Museum!
timothy fincher: Great fishing and getting a little deeper into the reserve where you can enjoy the wildlife and not have other people around you. Just listen to the birds and wildlife around you and enjoy God’s creation and not hearing trucks or other man made noise. It’s a beautiful area and I highly recommend checking it out!
Micah Fernihough: All I can say is wow! Highly worth the stop. Only $4 per person and worth every penny. The replication gives a wonderful insight into the size and daily life on the fort. The employees there were super kind and informative even though we came in 30mins before closing on a Saturday. We had to get a crash course, but could have spent longer.
Renee Stacy (LovinLivinLife): 1st time in 30 years going to this event. It was beautiful and they did an amazing job on the lights. We walked both sides and felt completely safe at 10 pm. We went late so it wouldnt be so crowded. I cant give it 5 stars because we went to one of the vendors to grab a bite to eat and they couldnt take cash so we had to go find a machine and get tickets. We got shrimp on a stick (6 small shrimp) and 1 hamburger (small plain hamburger) and it was $20.00. You put your stuff on your bread if you want it and nothing else comes on it. We sat on a bench down by the water to eat, I opened the shrimp stick that was wrapped in paper and aluminum foil and I ate the first one, which was way overcooked a guy came up and asked if I was the one that had just got the shrimp, I said yes and he proceeds to ask if I found his ring in there it had come off his finger. I immediately put it down because I instantly got nauseated when I realized he didnt have any gloves on or he would not have lost his ring. So there goes that $10.00. Overall the lights are pretty but I will probably never go back, the reason being that we intended on going back the next day but checked out of the hotel (Days Inn) (without a refund) because the room was disgusting and very dirty. The whole experience was just very unsatisfactory. McDonalds was even horrible. Cost us way too much for this getaway than it ever should have. They should do a lot better and have a cleaner and safer place for people to stay.
Lisa Vincent: We visited the Oakland Plantation today and it was so great! Everything from quality to customer service was a complete 5 star experience. The park rangers were absolutely AMAZING and helped us get our 3 young ones sworn in to being junior rangers, both lady rangers that helped us during our visit were extremely knowledgeable and so helpful! I couldn’t get over how nice and caring they were! Loved this place, awesome place for any little rangers also!
Kambri Tracey: This is a great Christmas activity for the family. The fireworks show over the river was so beautiful! It is one of the best firework shows weve seen so we come back every year. Parking is usually super packed so I suggest going early and getting paid for parking (Its usually $10) every year we go its usually cold so a jacket and hot hands are always a good idea.
Ericka Smith: Staff was very helpful and friendly! My 6 yr old son LOVED the mining bags and sluice experience! I enjoyed all of it! He really enjoyed the mini golf. It was fun and my son was able to complete most of the holes in 3-4 strokes. This meant less stress for him and me :) A staff member let us know about Halloween and Christmas festivities, so when we come back around those times, we will definitely make plans to visit Dark Woods. Its all around a fun, family oriented experience for people of all ages! Special thanks to "Shift Foreman" James!
