Louis and Elaine: Unfortunately the West Feliciana Historical Society and Museum was closed when we visited, but the grounds were beautiful with lots of signs. We walked around the area and took in some lovely sights. I look forward to visiting the museum on our return trip. The town of Saint Francisville is a very interesting stop with lots of interesting things to see.
Mitch Stewart: My favorite tour so far of all the plantation houses. She only does tours for this American river tours. The house is sealed with beautiful items and the tour has 100 different stories to go along with them. The hostess and owner Mary is the most beautiful southern bell we’ve met.
mark yaun: I enjoyed a Very interesting and educational personal tour led by a Very well informed retired Air Force officer, A tour started in the main building which is also the visitor center This building is packed with very many authentic displays from the time period when the Sight was an Army Air Force training center Training needed pilots for The anticipated upcoming World War II The tour continued behind the main building and the 2 hangers on the edge of the airstrip The 1st hanger housed The sections of a large World War II bomber Being reassembled to be used in air shows The 2nd hangar housed Several World War II air training planes that are functional I am also the personal aircraft of the 2 businessmen that own all the aircraft on the site There were several intact and Nearly functional aircraft on the tarmac outside of the hangers I was also fortunate to meet one of the owners of the aircraft that are on site. There is no set admission, only a small suggested donation which is posted on the door to the visitor center
James Young: Needs to be redid. Great park just needs to be updated. Redo the goals, and and a few things for the younger kids to play on. Slides, swings , monkeybars, a merry go round. Just small things would make it more appealing to the kids
Kristine G: Love our Memorial weekend at the park. Site 1 was big and level. The evening sun was brutal but still a good spot. Bathhouse clean but do need a refresh. All employees and camp host friendly and accommodating.
Virginia Voll: I love this park. It has so much to offer, a fishing lake with a pier designed to accommodate wheelchairs, a great playground, ball field and glorious hiking trails. The nature trails are great but not marked well so you can get a little lost, but no worries, you eventually find your way out and it adds to the adventure. There are little wooden bridges ... I always feel like I’m out in the woods even though the park is within walking distance of the city. My favorite park to take a daily walk.
Doug Wallen: Took a lazy Saturday to visit nearby Milledgeville to visit the former Governors mansion. There were no other guests, so it became a one-on-one excursion through the mansion. Very well-informed docent and a thorough trip through the home. I highly recommend this trip while in Milledgeville.
