Im not sure if it was because of the time we got there, but a lot of the larger animals were not out. Overall, there is a lot to look at, and we had a great time walking around and checking it out.
Treehouse Childrens Museum - Alexandria Jobrena Tucker: A lot of the activities were not in working order. I went with my grandson for a field trip and was very disappointed. I would not pay to take my child there. Hopefully, they are able to get the funds needed to make it a functional and educational place for children.
Arna Bontemps African American Museum - Alexandria Robert Merrell: Thought the fact that Mr.Bontemps fathers oldest brother married into the Metoyer family which are descendents of the builders of Melrose Plantation Mansion in Natchez Ms( which was owned by a free black man) was really awesome having now seen both places
Grand Bayou Beach - Coushatta sunshinethatruth Word word: It was beautiful the family hall was large clean and it had all the essentials to cook a family meal p cabins were very spacious even the small cabins can fit a family of three.
Cypress Bend Park - Many C Amanda (Amanda): We are here for the Louisiana High School Bass tournament. The park is very nice and very peaceful. The only downfall is there is not that many cabins available. The boat launch has 6 boat ramps so that’s very spacious. Louisiana has over 200 boats in this tournament so that’s a plus. The pavilion is very big and has restrooms and picnic tables.
South Toledo Bend State Park - Anacoco Michelle Trahan: My family of 6 spent four nights in an amazing cabin. It was able to sleep all of us with plenty of room. The scenery was beautiful and the kids loved it. It is definitely worth making a trip here.
Fort Jesup State Historic Site - Many William B: Great collection of Mexican War era artifacts and uniforms. The replica officers quarters and original officers kitchen are amazing as well as the ruins of other buildings. Is the staff is super friendly and knowledgeable.
