Bythe Sea: We attended this church in 2022 when they called the church "John the Theologian Orthodox Church" and they advertised on their website that they follow the Russo-Ukrainian (Slavonic) sect of Eastern Orthodox. They have since removed their website and changed the church name. This is a very small church consisting of the clergy his wife the former elderly clergy that owns the property and a deacon in training living on the grounds other than those four people maybe one or two more also living on the property and an elderly man will show up for services. A total of around 5 to 6 followers at most. We were very devoted to these people and excited to find this Eastern Orthodox church. Our intention was to stay long term and help grow the church. Our hopes were shattered and all our personal and emotional investments were flushed down the drain. I wouldnt recommend someone get to comfortable or settled in if they choose to make this their home church because they "switch on you" when they feel challenged or annoyed. It will go from this is Gods Church where everyone is welcome to this is our "private property" so get out. You wont see it coming or receive any warning. It was very stressful on us and our health issues. With no warning and (no church discussion) we get a text saying "Go somewhere else" It was not a experience I would want to see someone else go through especially a family so that is why Im sharing this experience. This church turned out for us not to be a welcoming church but a controlled social group on private property. A very disappointing and painful experience.
