Waddill Wildlife Refuge - Baton Rouge (LA)

5 /5 judy simon: Great place! I attended a fishing workshop there put on by Louisiana department of wildlife and fisheries. All of the instructors were awesome and learned a lot about the facility which has stocked ponds that are open to the public. Check out their website or social media for a calendar of free and upcoming classes and events.

5 /5 Adam Rentrop: Really beautiful out there. The facilities are great (for an outdoor place). A big field for games, a pond for fishing, a big covered area with kitchen, and some historic buildings on site.

2 /5 damian kidder: review based on limited experience. Google maps, says "dogs allowed". I was approached by an agent on the way out that said dogs are not allowed, and shell let it go this time. Tip for employees: click "suggest an edit" and change it before complaining about people showing up with dogs. I liked the river and being alone back there, but im no hunter. I probably wont be back. I was told that dogs arent good for conservation areas. Really? It looked like a briar patch. I dont call stocked ponds fishing, its "catching". Good for kids and hunters to practice, i guess, but not for people looking for a good hiking experience.

4 /5 Carlee Hurley: A great place to visit! Fishing ponds, hiking trails, an air rifle range, archery, and an outdoor education center! We couldn’t find anyone to ask questions and the trails weren’t very obvious, but it was fun to explore!
