5 /5 Byron MH: I got the sampler as my first taste (ever) of New Orleans cuisine. Man the gumbo packs a punch! But it was delicious, everything was delicious. I couldnt have asked for a better first meal in New Orleans and an introduction to Cajun/Creole cuisine. I got some green beans in bacon sauce as a side to the sampler

5 /5 Lisa Leung: The jambalaya premium is heaven. I wowed my entire meal. There were shrimps, crawfish, smoked ham (yum!) and the spices were perfect- so flavorful! There was rabbit meat too, though I didn’t see it and asked the bartender, sounds like it was shredded and simmered into the sauce. Regardless of whether I tasted the rabbit flavor… it was amazingly delicious. The bartender was super friendly too!

Its a casual spot with a genuinely good vibe and serves up some excellent food. I had the jambalaya here, and it was mighty good, packed with flavor and just the right amount of spice. The bartenders are nice, adding to the easygoing atmosphere. A crucial tip for visiting is that this is the kind of classic New Orleans bar that serves great food, but it is primarily a small, casual space. If youre looking for quality local food in a chill, slightly hidden spot, Coops Place is a definite win.

4 /5 10meme11: Visiting from Atlanta, I was told this has the best fried chicken ever. I can now second that notion. I got the Coops Taste Plate which was absolutely amazing. Just enough kick and spice. This authentic cuisine was top tier. I actually had enough for multiple servings for just my one self. I also liked the little vibe of the place. l definitely recommend!

4 /5 Mark Wallis: One of the last remaining true dives in the French quarter serving amazing local fare at good prices. They are known for their jambalaya, and it will not disappoint. People line up and it’s worth the wait. It’s not fancy and be ready for a helping of sass from the staff - but that is part of the reason you come.
