French Market Restaurant and Bar - The Original - New Orleans (LA)

5 /5 Aubrey Smalls: The French Market Restaurant is wonderful little hometown place to have lunch or dinner. The service was a little slow, but once seated they were very attentive and timely bringing out our order. The atmosphere reminds me of a small southern eateries with big mama in the kitchen and the food will have you asking for more. I had the seafood gumbo and the shrimp poboy sandwich. The gumbo was nicely seasoned, could have been a little thicker and richer, but the poboy was just right with that special mayonnaise to go with it. The price was, in a word, family friendly. When you get to New Orleans enjoy the food, shops, museums, and all that city has to offer.

1 /5 Kiley Angelona: We came here from Tennessee looking for some really good food to try on our trip. When we got in and ordered our appetizer it took 20 minutes alone to get that then ordered our food that took a hour to get to our table . We were finally happy to get our food and this is what are hamburger looked like RAW could not even eat it then when I asked about it she said “that’s what you get” did not even offer to fix it did not even offer to get a manager. Our drinks were empty the whole time she one checked on us one time the whole 2 hours we where there. Then on top of that charged us a 20% fertility tip very upset with this and will never be going back.

5 /5 Robert Kerns: Great New Orleans food with Saints playing. I had the catfish po boy and my wife had the burger. The highlight was the boudin balls and the bread pudding. Outrageously good! We had a great meal. Our server was there at every turn and again boudin!

5 /5 Gretchen Espich: Our food was delicious! (If you like red beans and rice, I highly recommend it) Fair prices for the French quarter and conveniently situated near Jackson square and the French Market. This does make it loud and the area (not the restaurant) is a bit chaotic. However, I think this is a great offering in the French Quarter with fair prices.
