If you are passing by and need to stretch your legs, come by for some free fresh brewed coffee and enjoy the view of the lake. Short walk behind the building. The restrooms are very clean. Staff are friendly and real nice. Dont forget to buy your magnet and pictures too. Awesome place.
Drew Park - Lake Charles Dr. Terrie S Reed: My Mission Team had fun with the seniors at the Drew Park Community Center. We join them in an art class. All of the students knew each other. They got a kick having students to partner with.
Prien Lake Park - Lake Charles Mahfuz Hassan: Prien Lake Park is a serene and well-maintained spot, perfect for family outings or a peaceful retreat. The scenic views of the lake are stunning making it a great place for photography or just relaxing by the water.
The park features clean walking trails, picnic areas with shelters, and playgrounds that are perfect for kids. It’s also equipped with boat ramps for those wanting to spend time on the water. Lock Park - Lake Charles bonsaai: Play area still under re-construction from storms but remainder of park is a well kept open greenspace with lots of room for movement. Culturally significant monuments make for enjoyable reading.
Imperial Calcasieu Museum - Lake Charles Freddy Velasquez: We had a fantastic time at the Imperial Calcasieu Museum. The definitive highlight of the visit was Rachel, the tour guide. She has such vast knowledge of the local history and great story-telling skills - she pulled us all the way in. Please do yourself a favor and stop by, the interesting local history and its delivery are fantastic. Also, huge props to the entire community for the way they care for the Sallier Oak.
Millennium Park - Lake Charles B. Doctor (TechDiva): Nestled in the heart of town, this park is a haven for families. Its sprawling playground is a childs dream, bursting with vibrant, innovative equipment. Specially designed areas ensure inclusivity for all, welcoming toddlers and children with disabilities. A joyful symphony of laughter fills the air! Felt very safe even late at night. Very well lite.
Tuten Park - Lake Charles B. Doctor (TechDiva): Tuten Park is a delightful escape! The walking path is perfect for leisurely strolls, while the huge shaded play area keeps kids entertained for hours. With plenty of seating, its easy to relax and enjoy the surroundings. Dont miss the awesome pumpkin patch in the fall—its a magical experience!
Cypress Pond - Lake Charles Gina Guajardo: Stopped by during the week and we couldnt find any of the gators. But it was still a nice place to visit and stretch your legs after a long car ride.
Creole Nature Trail Adventure Point - Sulphur Chantel Engel: Stopped in here before hitting the Creole Trail with our audio tour, Sharon and Chalma were so helpful! Gave us great tips on where to be sure to stop and good places to eat, highly recommend the stop here! Clean bathrooms and great displays inside!
mardi gras museum of imperial calcasieu - Lake Charles Carol Owens: Can you believe that some of the gear worn at Mardi gras is twice as tall as my husband? My only criticism of this museum is that the displays are close together so its difficult to get photos that do the costumes justice. This was a remarkable experience for us. To see the costumes up close and learn about their design and construction was an education. Imagine paying $6000. for an outfit which would be worn about 4 times.
About 250 costumes are displayed of the 500 that the museum owns. Theres no dust and no torn fabric evident . In one area you can try on masks etc. Such fun even for mature adults.
All in all a unique, educational, and entertaining museum.
