B. Doctor (TechDiva): Tuten Park is a delightful escape! The walking path is perfect for leisurely strolls, while the huge shaded play area keeps kids entertained for hours. With plenty of seating, its easy to relax and enjoy the surroundings. Dont miss the awesome pumpkin patch in the fall—its a magical experience!
Gina Guajardo: Stopped by during the week and we couldnt find any of the gators. But it was still a nice place to visit and stretch your legs after a long car ride.
Chantel Engel: Stopped in here before hitting the Creole Trail with our audio tour, Sharon and Chalma were so helpful! Gave us great tips on where to be sure to stop and good places to eat, highly recommend the stop here! Clean bathrooms and great displays inside!
Carol Owens: Can you believe that some of the gear worn at Mardi gras is twice as tall as my husband? My only criticism of this museum is that the displays are close together so its difficult to get photos that do the costumes justice. This was a remarkable experience for us. To see the costumes up close and learn about their design and construction was an education. Imagine paying $6000. for an outfit which would be worn about 4 times.
About 250 costumes are displayed of the 500 that the museum owns. Theres no dust and no torn fabric evident . In one area you can try on masks etc. Such fun even for mature adults.
All in all a unique, educational, and entertaining museum.
Little Ms Cajun Coonass: Absolutely beautiful park nestled along the water of the Calcasieu river with a paved walking path, restrooms, and a playground.
Steph C: Interesting experience! Cool old lighthouse. You check in at the plant after calling the library the day before and they open the gate to the lighthouse for you, after driving 1.6 miles down a dirt road with cows on it you arrive at the lighthouse. Worth it!
emily magee: Very beautiful well kept boardwalk trail with benches for resting along the trail. Great place for birdwatching. Also saw a lot of alligators in the ditches along the roads.
