Andrea F: Oh. My. Goodness. I was in Houma to visit another place, and I am so very glad I did. The lady working was very friendly. Admission is $3 cash only. The lady let me do the tour and then go get the money and come back! How cool was that. I offered to go get money before the tour, but she insisted. Such a detailed history of the area. The lifestyle and changes is amazing. I highly recommend this to anyone visiting the area.
Cheryl Goodson: When we arrived, Rick, the caregiver, said it wasn’t technically opened but invited us in and then he spent over an hour showing us the history of Lincoln parish and Louisiana. The place is a treasure trove of antiques and history. He is doing it all alone and has some way to go but the items he has are fascinating! Any history buff would love it! Highly recommend!
Tim Morton: A hidden gem! Beautiful, clean, and peaceful park for RV or tent camping. The majority of the RV sites are paved, with many backing up to the lake. Park offers walking & hiking trails and fishing. Very accessible with 35-42 ft rigs.
Corea Johnson: Had the pleasure of staying in Ruston to visit family. Being a veteran, I sought out the rich military history that this area had to offer. Google led me to the North Louisiana Military Museum where I had the distinct honor in meeting its Director, Ernie Stevens. He is friendly and knowledgeable. This museum is packed full with over a century of history. I was so inspired by the displays and their layout. I was ready to reenlist. When in Ruston, you must make it a priority to visit the museum and say hello to Mr. Stevens.
Joy Hunter: Such a cute little park. Has a nice splash pad and seating area. A park for playing, bathrooms, and a scenic walking path. Very tucked away and clean
Elizabeth Follett: This was a great park! Toddler and infant friendly. The bathrooms looked and smelled clean and had a fold down changing table. 4 extra long covered picnic tables. There was a "decked" area and a nice playground with a rubber ground. Both safe for crawling babies and toddlers. Plenty of parking.
Bradley Scott: Its a beautiful place with a ton of area to walk around or let dogs play. My only problem has been that it isnt well-kept and tends to have lots of trash on the ground.
