1 /5 Wayan Barre: Terrible experience with Emiles.
2 days ago, I got my Check Engine Light turn on, as I was about to leave the parking lot. I started noticing the engine was shaking when idle and I could smell fuel. After seeing good reviews, I drove to Emiles the next morning and explained the story.
The next day they explained they changed the motor mounts, which were worn, gave me a $600 bill, and a quick explanation. I am a bit sceptical at that point, but I get the keys back and turn the engine on. 10 seconds later, the Check Engine Light pops up again. I talk to them and they ask me to come back the next day...
The next day, I show up early in the morning. They scan my car again and say that could be numerous things causing the light, and that would require 10 days of research on my car to figure out.
At that point, I really lose all confidence in them and decide to have the opinion from two others mechanics in town. They both tell me the same thing "OK, a motor mount can cause problems and shaking, but this has nothing to do with the smell. They did not fix the issue you were coming for."
My car is now in good hands.
Edit: it took one hour to my new mechanic to identify the issue…
