First Emanuel Baptist Church - New Orleans (LA)

1 /5 Tony Tee: Racism reigns supreme here. My car broke down in the church parking lot and a black man in a white SUV claiming to be from the Church drove up and started yelling at me to leave. Called me a cracker and tried to fight me in the parking lot when I didn’t leave right away. He wouldn’t listen to me when I tried to tell him my car was having electrical issues. Very unfortunate if he is associated with the church. I was in distress and he forced me to leave.

5 /5 Nicole Foster: I inherited the love for this church as my father and aunt were part of the Gospel Soul Children a family friend invited us years before Katrina when I was only in high school. Not knowing I would attend with my mother in law and we had to return after the storm now bringing up our family in First Emanuel there couldnt be a better place. God bless Pastor daily , all staff and members as were always enriched spirtually.

5 /5 Shawn James: This is the church my family grew up in..starting with my great aunt (Te-te) my grandmother (Alma) and my mother (Cynthia) then me (Shawn) I was christened & baptized under Rev. Samuel Hadley..then my daughter (Shawnese) christened and baptized under Rev Charles Southall..and her I am 49 years later still attending, singing and praising God under his leadership..there’s no other place or leader that I’d rather be under than Rev. Southall..
