5 /5 Kermit Poling: Hans and Rick have worked on two of my vehicles over the course of quite a few years: a VW Eurovan, and a mid-70s Mercedes SL. Not only has their work been exemplary, but I have learned a great deal from them over the years. They know these classic cars well, and they will research anything they dont have an immediate answer for. (Theyve even provided guidance to me for certain minor repairs I wanted to try to do myself.) The end result has been that my cars run well under their care, and that I trust their work. I also know a number of other people, whose opinions I respect, and they also take their cars to Gerteis. Highly recommended!

1 /5 Kevan Simms: Hans Gerteis who Ive known for over ten years because thats how long he kept my car to restore it is not an honest person. He had to repainted my car THREE times. The last time I asked that he pay for it to repainted again at a reputable body shop, and he refused, lawyers up and wont speak to me anymore. All after I paid him $16,000 to restore. He does a decent job on the mechanicals, but not to be trusted for the body work. Stay away.

1 /5 Jazmyne Huber: I brought my 2014 Volkswagen Jetta S to Gerteis motors, I paid to have it diagnosed and the only thing they said was wrong with it was pretty much what my code reader said. I paid to get my car engine timing belt replaced & placed it in time, along with a coolant leak, and tensioner pulley & water pump. I got it back about 3 days and it drove great for 2-3 days and it started dying on me and losing power so I brought it back to get it diagnosed again got it back the next day, they said it was the battery needed to be reset and I drove it a few seconds down the road and it died again. I brought it back and they tried to diagnose it again this time it was free. They called VW engineers and couldn’t pinpoint an exact cause and told me to bring it to Volkswagen because they thought it was the ECM. The prices were reasonable and my car will start but it won’t stay running. Customer service was not the best as he tried to blame us for trying to fix the car ourselves before bringing it in but he couldn’t fix it either. Would recommend them for simple issues but nothing too major.

5 /5 jason bogard: Diagnosed the issues with my wife’s Mini Countryman and had it ready to go the next day. Prices are very reasonable considering how high maintenance cost can be on these cars. This is definitely my go-to shop for any vehicles repairs.

5 /5 D: Our 88 vw vanagon broke down outside of Shreveport, and Hans and Rick at Gerteis were able to work with us to find a timely solution for our shot wheel bearings and spindle. We were back on the road the next day! We appreciated their expertise and kindness greatly.
