Tina Ugas: The French Market was an excellent place to visit while visiting New Orleans. It was loaded with fascinating items, food, and flea market delights. There was food and a band playing; there was overhead covering so it was comfortable to walk in during the heat, and there was a dining area and a bar. I would highly suggest visiting when you go to New Orleans.
Sara Bryant: The instructor of the tour didnt even entertain Marie laveaus tomb which honestly I know most of the customers on the tour thats all we wanted to know or talk about to learn more facts but he was more interested in telling us about him and his family buried in that cemetery. Boring
Kevin Kwok: Free, with a security bag check and metal detector. The guards are so nice and tell you what areas are interesting to see. Worth a visit if youre into architecture. If you go on a rainy day, theres a good chance youll have the entire place to yourself :)
Daniel Neuhaus: Washington Artillery Park is a fantastic spot to take in the beauty of New Orleans, offering one of the best vantage points of Jackson Square and the historic St. Louis Cathedral. Perched above the riverfront, it provides a peaceful overlook where you can catch the charm of the French Quarter with a touch of serenity. The park itself is dedicated to the Washington Artillery, a historic military unit, and features a cannon as a tribute, adding a unique historical aspect to the scenic views.
From this spot, you can see street performers below, jazz bands filling the air with lively music, and the bustle of people enjoying New Orleans. It’s a popular spot for photos, especially during sunset, when the colors illuminate the cathedral and the Mississippi River in the background. Given its central location, it’s easy to stop by for a quick break while exploring the area, making it both convenient and memorable.
For anyone visiting Jackson Square, Washington Artillery Park is a must-stop, whether for the view, the history, or simply a moment to soak in the atmosphere of New Orleans.
Eric Cesare: This might be one of the best historical tours Ive ever had. Guide Katie was an outstanding source of information, ready and able to answer any question asked. Its a true skill to offer the right amount of details without over-communicating and to provide a factual account of the events with awareness and sensitivity to different levels of social and emotional awareness. I got so much more out of the tour than expected, with guest questions leading us into discussion of a variety of extra topics. The house and grounds are well-preserved and arranged with true historical pieces and covered nearly the whole of the property.
The price was very fair and if you have interest in visiting their other site - Gallier - you can get a discount on admission (works in reverse as well). Just show your receipt when you purchase admission to the other one.
Katie also generously offered me a little extra of her time after the tour to discuss additional perspectives and have an excellent local food recommendation. I was so pleased I called the next day they were open to say thank you again!

Rhoda Pruitt: We had a great time..The reservation and the service was good from start to finish.. When we arrived everything was easy to understand and it was organized..The drinks at the bar before boarding were cheap. The covered boat was comfortable and smooth. The host was funny and knowledgeable. We saw 3 alligators even though this time of year its not promising..Our family will book this tour again.
Molly Mendez: Great little museum with fantastic exhibits. Sysinctly lays out the history of New Orleans and the red light district. It covers everything from early settlers to the north of jazz. The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. Really lovely stop!
Eloise J. Li: Beautifully furnished. Only worth going to if you have extra time. I recommend visiting the historic homes that give hourly tours with guides first. The slave quarter rooms are closed and just let you peek in. There were no speakers with audio playing when I visited
