Jungle Gardens - Avery Island (LA)

5 /5 Courtney Robinson: I planned an impromptu trip to the jungle gardens with my family, and since I love nature, it was an easy choice for me! But everyone had an amazing time, too. We were a large group, and I believe I spent around $100 on entry fees for all of us, which was definitely worth it. The grounds were simply stunning and so peaceful. To be honest, I’ve never seen such vibrant greenery! The kids had a blast searching for wildlife like gators and birds. They snapped pictures of all the gorgeous views and enjoyed running around in the grassy areas. We even took some family photos together! Honestly, I can’t wait to return to this beautiful garden.

5 /5 Josh: An amazing experience. We enjoyed the 3 mile walk through the grounds, seeing several alligators along the way, bunnies, egrets, squirrels, and spiders. Along with the huge moss covered trees there is an interesting sense of danger from the wildlife. There is a free parking lot at the ticket cabin and free passage onto the island.

5 /5 Sheila Flood: This was one of the highlights of our visit to Louisiana. Even in December the gardens are gorgeous! The camellias are in bloom and although most of the birds are migrating there are still great egrets here on the river. Its very easy to hook up to their app that gives you information as you either drive or walk around. If youre walking, you might want to bring earbuds. Its about 3 mi to just go around the perimeter and there are lots of roads and trails in between so we drove around first and then went back and walked the pieces that we wanted to see more in depth. There are also information panels all over. The history of the McIlhenny family and the story of the Rookery fascinating.

5 /5 ron: We love visiting places like this. Anytime there is a "gardens" somewhere we are going we try to pay them a visit. We have been to a few and let me tell you, THIS PLACE LEFT US IN AWE!!! It is absolutely stunning. We would have rather walked it, but we were pressed for time, so we did the 3 mile drive. This place made us want more of it. If youre in New Iberia or on Avery Island and dont come to these gardens you have done yourself a great disfavor.

5 /5 Brandon Morgan: This one exceeded my expectations a bit. What an amazing place/way to experience the unique beauty of this state! I definitely cant do it justice with words, and probably cant with pictures either, but the pictures will definitely come closer, so:
