Roger Shellenbarger: Great Historic Museum. The Hostess was very Polite and proficient. I recommend you visit this museum and check out the rich history it has to offer.

Penny Crevoiserat: I initially planned to go to Vermillionville just to eat lunch at their well-regarded restaurant, La Cuisine de Maman. By the way, it deserves all of the positive reviews that it has gotten! I was visiting Lafayette to attend Festival International. On Friday, the music doesnt really get started until late afternoon, so I had the bulk of the day free to eat and explore. The historic village at Vermillionville is so well put together and incredibly interesting. The docents that I encountered were wearing period dress and extremely knowledgable. The historic buildings and their contents were well preserved. The grounds were lovely, and I ended up spending several hours after lunch visiting the village buildings and soaking up the history of the area. I think that my favorite spot was the Healers Garden, full of medicinal plants. Vermillionville is definitely worth a visit. This review doesnt really do it justice.

Jacob H: The azalea bushes were gorgeous, and the employees were kind, welcoming, knowledgeable, and legitimately excited about their town. And after visiting, I understand why. Nice little trail over the water here, and the maps they had to drive the rest of the azalea trail were very nice. They had good recommendations and we even got to meet the local “scaredy cat” I just wish I remembered how to say it in Cajun French like the lady told us! A great stop.

Lilian Dodenhoff: Such lovely staff. Gorgeous exhibits. How special to have on campus. Students I hope take advantage of free access. I recommend coming with your friend for a stroll even in gloomy weather and expanding your worldview. If this was on my campus I would visit every exhibit at least twice and use that time to connect with a new friend and follow up with coffee or a Bordens milkshake. My father saw many of the Rodin exhibit as a 23 year old in France it was a beautiful experience to share in his memories. Lots of French speakers when I visited I couldnt tell if they were Cajun French or international. It was a pleasant and melorable part of the visit for sure. I am so lucky I was able to join him for an Alumni event and see this exhibit that brought back so many wonderful memories. I wish I had seen the womens exhibit upstairs. Thank you for such a lovely visit.

Kelli K: The power had gone out when we got there, but it didnt really affect anything for us. It came back on after about 30 mins of us being there. We had a good time and the animals looked take care of. They definitely have quite a few areas that are under renovation, like the aviary. It wasnt super busy. I think families with young kids would benefit from the experience more
    Nature Station Trailhead - Lafayette
    Nature Station Trailhead
Sheila Flood: GPS brought us to Shadow bluff road but that entrance is locked off with a chain link fence, although you can get around it by foot, or take the small trail to the left to get to a large loop trail called Moonseed. Theres very little parking there. This seems to be the only access to Moonseed loop trail, which is strange. You can also take the larger trail along the canal and cross the new bridge and get to the nature center just on the other side, where there is a really nice series of boardwalks. The campground gate on the south side of the park has a cul-de-sac where people can park and take the trail to the Nature center, although theres not much parking there either. The nature center itself is fantastic! Full of charts and animal skulls and all kinds of information.

Trason Danos: This is truly an awesome swamp tour. There are a plethora of animals to be seen in Lake Martin, and the tour guide Brett knew everything about all of them! I would highly recommend this experience to both locals and visitors.
Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist - Lafayette
Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist
Sheila Flood: Very pretty red brick Cathedral with a truly enormous live oak tree protected in the yard and a really interesting cemetery out back. We arrived on Christmas day in the afternoon when it wasnt open ahead of the Mass but I think its normally open.
    Acadian Cultural Center - Lafayette
    Acadian Cultural Center
Roux_504: Its a nice visitor center type spot that gives you great history on the Acadiana region and admission was free of charge. The ranger on duty gave us a presentation of the makeshift musical instruments. The gift shop on property is reasonably priced. Parking is great and the facility is right up the road from Vermilionville Historical Village
Sky Zone Trampoline Park - Lafayette

Kacie Piazza: Ive debated posting this review as our experience as a whole wasnt all that bad. With that being said a family member had booked a party here this past weekend. Another family member of mine brought her 4 year old autistic son(level 3)along with her other 2 older sons to play and attend the birthday party. With about 45 minutes left of the birthday party, my cousin was approached by the manager saying her son that is of special needs was not allowed to to be in the play area without socks. My cousin then tried to explain to the manager that he is autistic and he wouldnt keep his socks on. The manager then replied along the lines of" I understand, but for sanitation reasons he cant be up here without socks". My cousin didnt make a fuss about it and removed him from the play area. So as a place of business whos crowd is mainly children, how do you go about accommodating children with needs? Do special needs children just not get to enjoy the little things as other kids who arent on the spectrum do? I had went speak to the manager and she had said well had I known the party wasnt over we would have let him play. At this point it shouldnt matter if her son was attending a party or not. In regard to sanitation, all of these children are running around sweating on every piece of equipment in this building that is being played on, but there is no leniency towards children who dont fully comprehend the rules of this establishment as far as wearing socks? Parents have a hard enough time bringing challenged children to events without being worried of judgment of the outside world. So hopefully this is something that can be discussed and prevented in the future because all children deserve to enjoy moments of fun.
