Carlos Simmons: Great Getaway For Family And Friends. Plenty Of Things To Do Here. Petting Zoo, Games, Rides And All Of The Pop Up Food Booths Are A Must Try. I Made Sure I Didnt Leave Without Getting Two Smoked Turkey Legs From Lethas Bbq.
Andrea F: Set up like an old time mercantile, around the sides and back of the museum is old equipment, goods and products that were in inventory probably 100 years ago. I got to see the quilt exhibit that has quilts from the 1800s. Amazing. Friendly people working.
Lizi Watts: We are trying to have a good time and don’t get me wrong we had some fun but the was a wreak some young couple was put putting on a bridge and fell off the guys face was so bloody you could barely tell it was a guy and then someone got ran over in a mud hole but we did go on trails and go in mud holes and have some fun but also someone was doing doughnuts by where we were camping and they were about five feet away from my dad’s expensive racing truck!!!!!!
Tom Meerschaert: A real cool set of buildings from back in the day. Lots of history and the staff was great on telling the story of the family and she showed us the buildings and a lot about each one. We loved our visit.
Tom Meerschaert: When we first arrived the door was locked. It had a number to call but that went to voicemail. We popped over to the antique store and an hour later. It was unlocked. Some pretty cool information on local history.
Betsy Levels: What a cool venue! Im there as a vendor at the annual Minden Makers Fair again--the folks are wonderful and friendly and the atmosphere is priceless!
Jannean Dixon, M.Ed.: I took a dozen Girl Scouts hiking at Port Hudson! They were more interested in the hiking than the museum, although the museum was interesting to the adults.
The great thing about hiking at Port Hudson is that the terrain is very unlike most of the surrounding area. It has some pretty significant hills! The old earthwork forts are super cool also.
We didnt see much useful signage however. There are some signs with alphabet labels, but the map I downloaded before the hike didnt include the letters. Thankfully we had a trails app.
