Alex van Zanten: Very pleasant visit. The museum hostess was very eager to tell us all about Jerry and the two cousins. Afterwards we visited the arcade next door. Viewed artwork guided by the artist himself. A small but very nice museum to visit.

Frannie MacKenzie: Can not say enough good things about our trip here. Van gave us a complete guided tour of the whole facility plus the event center and the original log cabin court house. We so enjoyed our afternoon here and encourage others to take time to visit this Museum and look at how DeSoto Parish evolved through the years.
BRECs Bluebonnet Swamp Nature Center - Baton Rouge

Beth Rekoske: This is a great area to go for a walk. We enjoyed it and may only complain that they didn’t have longer trails. A great shady walk in the swamp. So many species of birds! We saw turtles, rabbits, squirrels and then in the nature center saw snakes and so on. There was a nice picnic pavilion and benches along the walk ways. There is a little gift shop and clean restrooms.
BRECs Baton Rouge Zoo - Baton Rouge

Victoria: While the summer might change this, it was so peaceful walking around. Not a lot of people, plenty of leisurely pacing and space. So cool to see (and hear!) the peacocks and peahens. The giraffe is finally out and about. Unfortunately the Flamingo Cafe water fountains werent working, but we brought our own so plan ahead if you want free water. Otherwise its a little costly ($4 a bottle.) Also, the playground has a roped off section. Hopefully they are able to fix that area. The family membership is paid by just 3 visits for us (2 adults, three kids) so if you plan on going, get the membership! Also, there are park perks if you go often enough. Its a small zoo, but worth it just for the nature and getting out of the house. The hippos (Spencer and Ginger) were my kids favorite.

Martha Williams: We just had our daughters wedding ceremony and reception last Saturday at the museum. What an amazing venue! It was beautiful, both outside and inside. The director, Kelly Lee, was so easy to work with. I would recommend this venue for any of your social needs.

George Olivier: This was a beautiful way to get exercise. We walked all of the trails and saw some beautiful sites. There was not much foot traffic so it was also very peaceful. In addition, the trails are very very well maintained and clear of obstacles.
Louisianas Old State Capitol - Baton Rouge

Gair Brooks: Beautifully kept up, so much rich history in this building. I loves that you are able to do a self guided tour and take your time with each exhibit. There were two rooms, however, that seemed like they didnt belong there - the one with childrens coloring over the walls was just not really fitting, but I understand why its there - as an activity for kids to do...and the other with random wedding photos on the walls - my understanding is that they are displaying the wedding that have happened there? I honestly wished that it was opened on Sundays because I wanted to go back to the gift shop and purchased something - as they dont sell any of that stuff online.
