TABASCO Factory Tours - Avery Island (LA)

5 /5 Dara LaFleur: Theres a sign as you walk up to the buildings on the left that says to start at the museum. You pay and then follow the well marked numbers through the self-paced tour. The food at the restaurant was delicious. We discovered we like the new Sweet Chili and the Reserve. The shop was fun, and sister tried the raspberry Tabasco ice cream. It was interesting. The gardens were gorgeous. Just stay to the right, and dont turn around just because it says "Boat House and RVs". Keep going. We also enjoyed watching the birds and alligators in the rookery. Thanks for preserving and sharing this treasure. Now I want bamboo.

5 /5 Amy Jay: If you love Tabasco this is a must stop before you go to New Orleans the history was so cool, 7 stops on the self guided tour summer is hot so walk fast but in the buildings its nice and cool you get to see the way the barrels are prepared to mashing and aging bottling and free tasting with your $15 ticket restaurant is good to recommend the sampler to share so many good things the red beans and rice and ice cream all flavored with Tabasco but not to hot! Parking is close also many things you can get here to take home in the gift shop after do the drive thru of the grove and the family mansion we really enjoyed views of the river the trees and plants are beautiful and its included with your $15 ticket workers were very friendly

5 /5 Raunak Prasad: Wonderful Wonderful place..Tabasco factory is fantastic, you get to see the entire process of manufacturing different types of the sauce. They let you sample ice cream (very different), all types of sauce and different snacks. The place brings in the wonderful history of a family owned business. On the top of it the place has some of the best natural habitats, where you can enjoy alligators, tortoises and birds. The place is a must visit.

5 /5 Kelli K: We had a really good time here. The museum told you all about the history of the family and how Tabasco came to be. It was very interesting. You got to see the stages of production and see the folks actually on the production floor. It was a good tour and the videos werent too long and were engaging. We also went to the jungle gardens and that was beautiful. It does look like they have a lot to upkeep, but I wish the water features still worked. I was also sad to see that the house isnt open to the public and looks quite run down. But overall it was a beautiful place! You kind of drive through and stop and walk different parts.

5 /5 Ginger Collins: We spent almost the whole day on Avery Island visiting the Tabasco factory (self guided tour) the gift shops and the gardens and had a blast. The beauty of the oak trees on the area of the gardens is like heaven on earth. We ate at the Cafe on property and had probably the best meal of our entire trip there. I had the crawfish ettoufee with crab cake and the boudin egg rolls. I would definitely order this again. Lots of unique gifts in the shops. Tabasco pepper chocolate perhaps my favorite.
