Brandon Barron Southern University Law Center gave me an opportunity when no one else would. My LSAT score wasn’t strong, and every law school near me denied my application. But SULC saw my potential and welcomed me. I moved to Baton Rouge, and from day one, I experienced a top-tier legal education.
What truly makes SULC exceptional, though, is its people. The faculty, staff, and students create an environment that is both challenging and supportive. Professors push you to think critically and work harder than you thought possible, but they also genuinely care about your success.
Though I missed home, SULC supported my academic journey and allowed me to become a visiting student at New England Law | Boston. That’s the mark of a great institution—they put students first. The rigor of SULC’s curriculum pushed me to my limits, and my grades reflected the challenge. But once I arrived at NELB, I quickly realized how well SULC had prepared me. Compared to my peers, I was ahead—both in the classroom and on my transcript.
SULC doesn’t just teach law; it transforms you. The people at SULC are what make it truly special, and I owe my growth, confidence, and legal foundation to them.
They raise Lawyer Leaders. I’ll forever be proud to be an SULC graduate!

C W Andrea Love was rude to me over the phone. She discouraged me from wanting to ever apply to this law school. This experience left a horrible first impression.
