4 /5 Asuka Langley Soryu: First of all, the service at Oceana is excellent. From the host who seated us to our server, everyone was warm, welcoming, and attentive, enthusiastic, but still very professional.
We ordered the Taste of NOLA, the Seafood Gumbo, and the Oceana Famous Oysters. All three dishes had fairly heavy seasoning. The gumbo, in particular, was on the salty side, though you can tell the flavors and spices were very well layered — if it were just a bit less salty, it would have been outstanding.
The oysters were fresh off the grill, incredibly fragrant, and really delicious. Just make sure to eat them while they’re hot, because once they cool down, the flavor drops by about 60%.
If you enjoy salty food or don’t mind dishes that are on the saltier side, this place is definitely worth visiting.
