Rachel Copping My fiance and I made a same day reservation on a Friday. This was the best dinner I have ever eaten. It was my first time there after receiving a gift card from Southeast Insulations (Thanks Blair). The service was phenomenal! The food was even more phenomenal! Cant wait to eat here again! Thanks again for a wonderful time.

Yen Nguyen I just had to share how lucky we were to discover this amazing restaurant! It’s the real old Cajun style, and the food was absolutely delicious. The service was great, too, which made the whole experience even better. I only wish we lived closer so we could visit more often and try even more dishes. If you’re ever in the area, you’ve got to check it out!

Tammy Coming back to Baton Rouge—I had to stop at The Chimes — and wow, it’s still just as amazing as I remembered. Some places change, but The Chimes feels timeless. I kicked things off with the Sautéed Crab Fingers — crab claws in white wine garlic butter with parsley. Honestly, that sauce alone is worth the trip. Then came my entrée: the Salmon Alfredo. Perfectly cooked salmon over creamy alfredo pasta, with a warm bread roll on the side. Comfort food at its finest. Walking back in after all these years felt like nothing had changed — the food, the vibe, the memories. The Chimes is still the spot that makes Baton Rouge feel like home.

Bailey Tisdale Was in BR for 3 days visiting my family and ate here ALL 3 days. Absolutely incredible!! Over the course of 3 days we got crawfish queso (every single time this was def the best and got toasted bread with it), chicken pot pie, seafood pot pie, fried shrimp plate, crawfish hand pie, fried chicken and red beans and rice and seafood bisque, blueberry hand pie with lemon glaze (got this every single time)….1. Crawfish queso is an absolute must. 2. Seafood pot pie has got to be the best entree on the menu 3. Even if you don’t like pie you must get the blueberry fried pie….top 3 dessert i’ve ever had. The chicken pot pie was a strong runner up and i got parmesan potatos. The fried chicken and red beans were just that, nothing great. Crawfish hand pie was least fave. Loooooove this place will be back and tell everyone to come!

Tammy TJ Ribs is still dishing out the heat! I ordered the barbecue shrimp and barbecue chicken, and both entrées were absolutely delicious. The shrimp came as eight jumbo Gulf shrimp sautéed in a rich lemon garlic butter sauce, served over creamy mashed potatoes with garlic bread on the side — a perfect balance of flavor and comfort. The chicken entrée was a leg quarter servedwith potato salad, baked beans, garlic, and toast. It was hearty, flavorful, and beautifully prepared. Each entrée also came with the option of a garden salad, house salad, or a baked potato with butter and sour cream, which made the meal feel complete. For dessert, I tried the bread pudding. While I appreciated the effort, I didn’t care for the chocolate morsels mixed in — it wasn’t quite my style. That said, the main dishes more than made up for it, and I left satisfied and impressed.

Sandra Shields We went for lunch on Christmas Eve. The food was excellent. The filet was tender and flavorful, and the Steakhouse salad was delicious. There are NO baked potatoes available at lunchtime, which was disappointing. The potatoes au gratin was a good substitute. The carrot cake was enormous and so so good. Our table of 3 shared it. Our server, Heidi, was attentive without being intrusive and was helpful with recommendations.

Mary H Had a wonderful meal and great service tonight. Started with Range Rattlers, mains of Urban Cowboy and Filet Oscar that were both cooked perfectly medium. Eric our server was very busy but was very friendly and never kept us waiting. This was our first dining experience at Salt Grass in Baton Rouge and we were impressed with the staff. Vicky Creasy We love fiery crab! We came today for the half off boils. They were celebrating. I definitely like the Denham location better, but the food was so good. My daughter said to make sure everyone knows how good the regular fries are!

Dee C In town for a dance convention so I googled places to eat and SoLou came up as a top place so we decided to give it a try for Sunday brunch. It did not disappoint. It was packed when we got there. Hostess said there was a 30 min wait but we got seated in less than 15. Waitress was super nice. She recommended the LouBerry and margarita drink. We enjoyed them. Also we had the crabmeat cheesecake and hot crawfish dip and they both were delicious. For dessert, we had the bread pudding. All of it was 10/10. Also, they serve pork rinds complimentary while you wait on your food. Seemed like everyone was celebrating a birthday that day so I know the staff sung Happy Birthday at least 10 times while we were there, but they all did it with a smile! Even the manager was singing right along with them. She even came by checking on us a couple of times. Great atmosphere and good fresh food. Will def go back.

Michael Hill Driving through, from Florida to Dallas, and this was the place we picked for dinner. And we were glad we chose Mason’s Grill. Great menu, and great food. And how often does a chef come out to talk to the customers? They were out of the Gouda cheese. Switched to the Monterey Jack. Appetizer was the onion fried boudin. Delicious! Great taco Tuesday deal. Kind of small but a great price. The burger of the month. Fantastic. Loved the onion rings. And we saved a little room for the white chocolate bread pudding. Wow! Good service. Loved the atmosphere.
