2 /5 Vanessa C: 1 Star for simply existing. A 2nd star for my AC actually working. Everything else about my experience here was absolutely terrible. I went one place and they told me about $350 to do the job but they were booked out for a week. The matter was rather urgent as I had requested off of work for several days to go out of town and I have a 3 year old, I can not make a 5 hour trip with little to no AC. The owner of that shop suggested I go to Abita Garage, said their prices were reasonable and gave me their phone number. When I called them I spoke with the owner who told me $300-$350 and I could bring my car by the next day. Fantastic except when I showed up the next day everyone there was rude and unprofessional. The guy asked me what was in my AC kit that I brought and I told him I wasn’t sure. He rolled his eyes at me and told me he was “too old for guessing games”. They told me it would be done the next day. I took my work stuff out of my car and hopped in my moms car and commented to her if I didn’t need my car for the weekend and they weren’t giving me a good price I would have taken my car and left. Next day rolls around and no phone call. I call Friday morning and they tell me no it’s not ready, maybe by the end of the day if not Monday. It still wasn’t ready so I had to cancel my trip. I had my mom call Monday morning while I was dealing with some other stuff and they told her no, they had just started on it. Finally at 4:45pm they called to tell me it was ready...really y’all close in 15 minutes. So I come Tuesday to pick up my car and they charged me $660! I understand the price they gave me on the phone was an estimate, but to tell me one price then charge me 2x that is insane! Just terrible business practices, very unorganized and rude and unprofessional. I was left without a car for 5 days and couldn’t even get treated with respect. Oh and they don’t take cards either, my mom had to write a check for me
