Karen Spahn Jorgenson: I enjoyed the comprehensive exhibits and displays in the museum: Mardi Gras, the steamboat period, black theatre, the extensive pipe collection, the surgical and pharmaceutical supplies, the Lemann Dept Store, the slavery sections… the museum has a large historical collection representing Louisiana’s River Road. It was good to see that. There are so many plantations along River Road. The volumes of information on the River Road Plantations must have been painstaking to collect. I found it painstaking to read. The museum attempted to lay it out by the West Bank and East Bank, beginning with a focus on New Orleans. History of each, from the time the plantation was built until the time it was lost, was provided. I would have preferred the information in a book. Maybe a short film and/or the addition of short videos would have reduce the tedium of all the reading. I do applaud the museum for its collection.

BRYAN LOWRY: 2nd time there, it was a very nice experience each time. Our tour guide was new and nervous, but he did a good job explaining the history of the plantation. The ladies in the gift shop were so friendly and helpful also. My wife try an alcohol free Mint Julep, and now thats all she craves at home.

Andrea Schneider: Great place to tour, and the tour guide was super nice and fun to talk to. They have the incorrect times for the tours on their website. When we got there, they ended up doing a tour just for us, which was so nice.

Greg Knapp: We almost passed the site due to its unpretentious entrance; so glad we didnt. This site is low-key, but does a wonderful job of telling the story of two of Louisianas favorite sons, White the Governor and his son White the US Supreme Court Chief Justice. They also do a wonderful job of of explaining Whites sugar cane operation. Fascinating stories. And dont mist the magnificent 400 - 450 year old live oak trees around the house.

Stephanie Koss: We took the tour of the home. It was at 10am on a weekday. We had a small group of about 10. Our guide was very friendly and knowledgeable about the history of the grounds. Since the group was smaller, we had plenty of time for questions and comments during the tour itself. It was a great experience. Price was also right. If you like history and stories of hauntings I would recommend.
